Let’s drop self-consciousness and find freedom with your voice. My name is Sarah Lessire and I am a trained Vocalist and Singer/ Songwriter teaching in Oakland. I have had extensive Classical and Jazz vocal training at the Royal Conservatories of Brussels and Mons, and I have extended experience in Jazz, Soul, R&B, pop, folk, Musical Theater, and World Music. My lessons aim to establish a solid vocal technique, proper breathing, and throat relaxation in order to cultivate your own unique voice and help you sing your style of music with more confidence and ease. My focus is to help you find and develop your authentic expression and musicality. In addition to technique, we’ll work on dynamics, nuances, and phrasing within songs of your choice. My teaching method is influenced by David Jones, Gary Douglas, Feldenkrais, and Somatics, and aims to create new, healthier neural pathways in voice delivery and singing activity. All styles of music, levels, and ages are welcome. In addition to singing lessons, I offer songwriting coaching and voice therapy (for spoken and singing voice) to people whose voices crack, dim over time, don’t have enough volume, etc.)
